Given the seasonal opening of the Val di Sole Bike Park, Daolasa di Commezzadura (Trentino, Northern Italy) will host a weekend full of bike experiences and opportunities, from organized rides to downhill runs on the Black Snake, plus the new Moserissima event
The Val di Sole BikeFest is the headline event of the Val di Sole summer season. From June 3rd to the 5th, Daolasa di Commezzadura (Trentino, Northern Italy) will host the new, two-wheeled festival for the Val di Sole Bike Park’s season opener. The Val di Sole BikeFest will set the tone for the first of three weekends dedicated to the “Outdoor Days FestiVal di Sole”.
The Val di Sole Tourist Board and Grandi Eventi Val di Sole will organize a total bike festival in the Trentino valley, punctuated by the IMBA Europe Summit at week’s end. The summit is the most important think-tank event in the mountain bike world. The Val di Sole BikeFest will be a varied and inclusive three-day event where bikers can live unmatched experiences by immersing themselves in a region born to welcome cycling fans with bike tests, food and drink areas, bike tours, and events for youngsters.
Given the Val di Sole Bike Park’s special opening in Commezzadura, Val di Sole has organized a program of events and bike initiatives staged in an area that represents the promise land of bikes and cycling.
The Val di Sole BikeFest program starts on Friday afternoon, June 3rd (14:00-17:00 CEST), with the opening of the Expo Area and the Skill Park organized by Dolomeet, and with bike tests by Giant, official partner of Val di Sole Bikeland. These activities will take centre stage for the whole weekend. On day 1, the schedule features the first experiential activities, the Tour Val Meledrio (organized by Val di Sole Bike Rent&Tour) and the Tour Malé (organized by Andreis Cicli Specialized), before an evening of street food and musical entertainment.
On Saturday, June 4th, the Expo Area and the Skill Park will open at 09:00 CEST, but the first events are scheduled for the early morning, when it’s possible to enjoy the sunrise while riding an e-bike, followed by an alpine breakfast at the hut. At 06:00 CEST, the Epic Tour Grande Guerra, the most iconic bike tour of Val di Sole Bikeland, will also kick off, followed by these group rides: Trail La Preda (organized by Centro Bike Val di Sole); Tour dei Forti (organized by Ursus Adventures); Trail Almazzago (organized by Skiarea Sport Shop); Tour Lago dei Caprioli (organized by Val di Sole Bike Rent&Tour); and the Tour Val di Sole (organized by Trek&Bike Trentino Wild), before an evening of street food and musical entertainment for youngsters.
The Expo Area and Skill Park will also open at 09:00 CEST on the final day, Sunday, June 5th, which stands out for the new “La Moserissima Val di Sole Edition”, the eco-friendly, non-competitive bicycle ride with Italian cycling icon, Francesco Moser. Moserissima is open to all types of bikes (from vintage to e-bikes) and the route features many gravel sections.
Giant bike tests will continue Sunday, whilst the program of bike tours features the Tour Monte Peller (organized by Andreis Cicli Specialized), Trail Folgarida (organized by Centro Bike Val di Sole), Tour Larici Secolari (organized by Skiarea Sport Shop), and the thrilling Enduro Tour-Discesa delle Aquile (organized by Trek & Bike Trentino Wild).
Last but not least, the Gravity School by Luca Masserini will give adults and kids the exclusive opportunity to try out some downhill trails, thanks to mini clinics scheduled for Saturday, June 4th and Sunday, June 5th.
"The Val di Sole BikeFest is an amazing opportunity to develop new tourist strategies. Val di Sole is a region that lives in harmony with bikes. An event like the BikeFest provides the opportunity to experience this valley from multiple perspectives that are all exciting in different ways”, said the Director of the Val di Sole Tourism Board and Grandi Eventi Val di Sole, Fabio Sacco.
