It’s mountain bike weekend in Val di Sole. The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup stage in Daolasa di Commezzadura (Trentino, Italy) will run from tomorrow, Thursday, June 29th to Sunday, July 2nd, offering one of the most exciting fixtures of international offroad cycling.

With 15 years of uninterrupted history in high-level mountain biking, including three editions of the World Championships, Val di Sole has now achieved the status of a great classic on the global circuit, where winning always counts for something more.

This year, under the new management of the UCI Mountain Bike World Series by ESO Sport - Warner Bros Discovery, the event organized by Grandi Eventi Val di Sole and the Val di Sole Tourist Board gains an additional day of races. Tomorrow, Thursday, the short track races for the Under 23 women's category (17:30 CET) and men's category (18:15 CET) will take place.

The Short Track is just one of the four formats that will provide excitement during the long weekend in Val di Sole. Highly anticipated, as always, is the Downhill, scheduled for Saturday on the legendary Black Snake track. The Olympic Cross Country will close the program in the afternoon on Sunday, while Friday evening will see the traditional appointment with the Four Cross Pro Tour. In total, over 700 Elite, U23, and Junior male and female athletes from five continents will compete in Val di Sole.

Wednesday in Daolasa, the action began with the classic Track Walk for the Downhill athletes on the Black Snake track, followed by the first official training sessions for the Junior Women and Men categories.

On Thursday, Juniors will take on the official qualifications for the DH Finals to be held on Friday, late morning.

On Friday afternoon, the focus will shift back to the Short Track, this time for the Elite categories: Women at 17:45 and Men at 18:30. In the evening, under the spotlight of Daolasa, the appointment with the Four-cross and the 4X Pro Tour Event will take place, starting at 21:00 CET.

Saturday, July 1st, will be the day of the Black Snake, with the Elite finals scheduled for 13:00 (women) and 14:00 (men). In the afternoon, at 17:00, it will be the turn of children to take action with the GIANT Mini World Cup Cross Country.

Sunday, July 2nd, will mark the traditional conclusion of the Val di Sole Bikeland program with the Cross Country race. Legend Nino Schurter, the ten-time World Champion, will be seeking his sixth victory in Val di Sole. The Women's U23 race will start at 08:30, followed by the Men's U23 race at 10:30, Women's Elite at 13:00, and Men's Elite at 15:00, all times CET.

FUN AND SUSTAINABILITY

The Daolasa World Cup stage confirms its commitment to the environment and its efforts to reduce the event's carbon footprint, having obtained the "EcoEventi Trentino" badge. The unabatable emissions will be offset by supporting an environmental project in Laos, Southeast Asia, in collaboration with Climate Partner.

For those who want to experience the spectacle of the great MTB firsthand, the fun doesn't end at the finish line, with plenty of side events and entertainment coming over the weekend.

On the evening of Friday, June 30th, the One Horse Band show will take place, featuring their unique blend of alternative rock, ska, and post-punk, followed by the Val di Sole Bikeland Party with DJ Alessandro Costa. On Saturday, July 1st, the side events will start at 18:00 with the Bikeflip Show, followed by the RockaBike Fest at 21:30 and the showcase of Kate Klein at midnight.

"It will be a week of celebration," explained Fabio Sacco, Director of the Val di Sole Tourist Board and Grandi Eventi Val di Sole.
