Since the 2018 season, Short Track has been the latest competition to join the Mountain Bike World Series programme, but it has not taken long to win the hearts of athletes and fans alike, offering uncertain and tight races from the first to the last metre.
At a time when even motorsport is talking more and more about "sprint races" to heighten the spectacle, the world of mountain biking can already make a case for a discipline that is now more than just a preview of Cross-Country competitions.
The Val di Sole Short Track lasts around 20 minutes and is held on loops that are usually 1/1.5 km long, offering exciting battles and rewarding athletes with great sprinting at the start and the ability to work off the line.
