The fun continues beyond the races during the long and intense week of the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships Val di Sole-Trentino (August 26th–30th). Side events, live music and brand activations will complement the “rainbow” programme in Daolasa di Commezzadura
With just days to go until the official start of the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships Val di Sole-Trentino, excitement is building in Daolasa di Commezzadura for the biggest mountain bike event of the year. From Tuesday, August 25th, riders will begin arriving in the paddocks to familiarise themselves with the courses that will award 17 rainbow jerseys across five disciplines from Wednesday, August 26th to Sunday, August 30th: Cross-country Olympic, Cross-country Short Track, Team Relay, e-Mountain Bike Cross-country and Downhill.
Anyone familiar with Val di Sole and the atmosphere surrounding the World Championships in this corner of Trentino will know that there is always something happening at the Daolasa race venue, whether it’s the succession of high-level competitions or the packed programme of side events organised by Grandi Eventi Val di Sole.
Fans can therefore look forward to an intense week of World Championship events, with battles for the rainbow jerseys complemented by four-cross racing, activities for kids, live music, concerts and brand activations.
OPENING CEREMONY ON TUESDAY, FOUR-CROSS TAKES CENTRE STAGE ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY
The week begins on Tuesday, August 25th, with the opening ceremony, which is scheduled to start at 18:00 CEST in Malé. The 52 participating national delegations will parade through the town one after another during this celebratory evening.
On Thursday, August 27th, the focus shifts to Daolasa, where the 4X Pro Tour qualifying round will begin the evening’s events under the floodlights. Although four-cross is not part of the official programme for the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships, it has long been one of the most eagerly anticipated events for fans in Val di Sole.
On Friday, August 28th, the focus will be on the youngest riders in the Cross-Country Kids race, which starts at 18:00 CEST. Children will have the chance to ride on the Daolasa race course, just metres from their heroes, and experience the atmosphere of the World Championships first-hand. At 21:00 CEST, the men’s and women’s 4X Pro Tour competitions will begin, followed at 22:00 CEST by the Val di Sole Bikeland Party with live music bands.
Following the Downhill awards ceremony on Saturday, August 29th, the celebrations will continue with the second evening of the Val di Sole Bikeland Party, starting at 21:00 CEST. Two Spans Above will open the evening with a pre-show performance, followed by the “Val di Sole Bikeland Rainbow Night”.
THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS EXPERIENCE GOES BEYOND THE RACING
Sponsors and partners are more closely involved than ever, and this year’s side event programme is the richest yet. Their presence brings technology, heritage, passion and local culture to Daolasa, and gives fans somewhere to meet the brands and the people behind the racing.
SCOTT, the Bike Partner of Val di Sole Bikeland, is one of the brands taking centre stage. The company has chosen the World Championships Val di Sole-Trentino as the setting in which to tell the story of one of the most iconic bikes in cross-country racing: the Spark. In its dedicated exhibition area, visitors will be able to trace the evolution of this bicycle through a selection of historic models associated with Nino Schurter’s triumphs.
Vittoria will also showcase its long-standing connection with racing and the top riders. On Friday, August 28th, from 14:00 to 14:30 CEST, fans will have the opportunity to meet US rider Savilia Blunk. Appearances by other Team Wilier Vittoria athletes competing in the World Championships are also being finalised, including Luca Braidot, Juri Zanotti and Simone Avondetto, the 2025 World silver medallist. The Vittoria stand in the Expo Area will also serve as a meeting and entertainment hub, offering games and contests for fans.
At the Muc-Off stand, visitors will find a dedicated bike-washing area and the opportunity to explore the brand’s full range of products. Also on display will be the MTBs of the Commencal Muc-Off team, whose five riders are expected to compete in the Downhill races: Myriam Nicole, Amaury Pierron, Loris Vergier, Max Alran and Till Alran.
Melinda will showcase its connection with the local area by bringing the taste and quality of one of Trentino’s flagship products to Val di Sole. Visitors to the Expo Area will be able to sample Melinda products every day. The brand will also host a variety of field and experiential marketing activities, including live apple tastings, a refreshment area offering apple juice, and a Feedback & Reward Experience with Freecrock bars.
FROM THE TRAIN TO THE HEART OF THE ACTION
The UCI Mountain Bike World Championships will therefore offer spectators a full week of entertainment. The Daolasa di Commezzadura race venue is easily and sustainably accessible via the Trento–Malé–Mezzana railway line.
Daolasa station, located just a few metres from the event area entrance, will be served by an enhanced rail service. Throughout the event, additional services will operate on the Trento–Malé–Mezzana line, with trains running every 30 minutes between Malé and Mezzana specifically for spectators. From August 27th to 30th, the BikeTrain service on the Mostizzolo–Malé–Dimaro–Mezzana route will be replaced by a bus service. Train services will be free for holders of the Trentino Guest Card, or Val di Sole Guest Card.
