The Val di Sole stage of the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series was officially presented in Trento. From 20 to 22 June, the global spotlight will turn to Daolasa di Commezzadura for 14 races in just three action-packed days. The event will be broadcast live on Eurosport and Discovery Plus
“It’s a matter of beats.” Just one heartbeat — the moment the gate drops, the tyre grips the edge, and adrenaline takes over. In Val di Sole, every turn, jump and root challenges not only the riders’ skills, but their rhythm, instincts and nerve. From 20 to 22 June, 2025, the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series will return to Daolasa di Commezzadura, just over a year ahead of the 2026 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships (26–30 August), also set to take place in Val di Sole.
If the UCI has chosen Val di Sole to host the World Championships for the fourth time in under 20 years, it’s no coincidence: the valley is made for mountain biking. Its trails are benchmarks of the international season — for both Cross Country and Downhill.
The official launch took place on Tuesday, 3 June at Trentino Marketing’s headquarters in Trento. Together, Val di Sole and Val di Fassa unveiled an exceptional double-header: two consecutive weekends of top-tier MTB racing in the province of Trento. All four formats of the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series will be represented across these two celebrated destinations.
In 2024, Val di Fassa hosted the first-ever Enduro World Championship. In 2026, Val di Sole will once again welcome the World Championships for Downhill and Cross Country, for the fourth time in 20 years — joined that same season by the MTB Marathon World Championships in San Martino di Castrozza. These events further underscore Trentino’s position as a world-class cycling hub — not only in mountain biking but also on the road, thanks to iconic races like the Tour of the Alps and the Giro d’Italia.
Those who took part in the press conference included Roberto Failoni (Councillor for Tourism of the Autonomous Province of Trento), Mattia Gottardi (Councillor for Sport of the Autonomous Province of Trento), Luciano Rizzi (President of Val di Sole Tourism Board and Grandi Eventi Val di Sole), Fabio Sacco (Director of Val di Sole Tourism Board and Grandi Eventi Val di Sole), Paola Mora (President of Trentino's Italian Olympic Committee), Barbara Mussa (head of the off-road sector at the Italian Cycling Federation), Renato Beber (President of Trentino Cycling Federation) and Nicola Andrighi (Deputy Mayor of Commezzadura). Representing the UCI Mountain Bike World Series stage in Val di Fassa were Gianni Rasom (Vice President Val di Fassa Great Events), William Basilico (Val di Fassa's Event Manager) and Nicolò Weiss (Val di Fassa Tourism Board' GM). The President of the Italian Cycling Federation, Cordiano Dagnoni, joined remotely.
In 2025, Val di Sole will feature four formats — Cross Country, Short Track, Downhill and Four-Cross — with 14 races across three days and the world’s best riders on show. Surrounding the action, big crowds and non-stop entertainment.

The Elite Women drop in at 12:15, with Italy’s Eleonora Farina, Veronika Widmann and Gloria Scarsi among the contenders. Favourites include Austria’s Vali Höll and Britain’s Tahnee Seagrave — both past winners on this track. The grand finale is the Elite Men’s race at 13:10, where reigning champion and world number one Amaury Pierron defends his title. Italy’s Chris Hauser hopes to find his groove on home soil.
Sunday, 22 June brings the final battles in Cross Country. U23 Women start at 9:00 am. The Elite Women’s race follows at 11:00 am. At 13:30, the Elite Men take over, featuring Italy’s Filippo Fontana, Simone Avondetto and veteran Luca Braidot — all aiming to challenge MTB legend Nino Schurter, who is hunting for his tenth Val di Sole win. The weekend closes with the U23 Men’s race at 15:30.
