01 agosto 2019 - 22:40

The Four-Cross World Championships got into action with the qualifying round ahead of Friday’s Elimination tournament (21.15) that will crown the new World Champions

The acrobats of the Four-Cross, the most uncertain discipline in Mountain Biking, lit up the night of Friday August 1st in the arena in Daolasa di Commezzadura (Trentino).

In view of the elimination tournament that will assign the new rainbow jerseys on Friday August 2nd, the qualification round took place on Thursday, an individual time trial on the 600 mt. track.

Czech Tomaz Slavik and German Raphaela Richter were the fastest, reaffirming their status among the favorites. Slavik left behind Swiss Lutz Weber e Austrian Hannes Slavik

The home riders had a solid display, with Stefano Dolfin in sixth position and 2017 World Bronze Medallist in Val di Sole, Giovanni Pozzoni, in 12th.

In the Women series, Raphaela Richter preceded defending World Champion Romana Labounkova and Brit Natasha Bradley. In the time trial, Richter and Labounkova made quite a difference on the rest of the field, but 4Cross heats always have some surprises in store, and open chances for outsiders.
