For the second consecutive year, Puck Pieterse reigns supreme in the Val di Sole Bikeland Short Track. The phenomenal Dutch rider delivered a commanding performance, taking control of the race from the opening laps on the Trentino circuit.
Despite her aggressive start, the race remained tightly contested until the final lap, which began with Canadian Jennifer Jackson at the front.
However, the Orbea Factory Team rider’s lead lasted only a few hundred meters before Pieterse launched a powerful attack. Swedish rider Jenny Rissveds (Canyon CLLCTV) attempted to follow the Alpecin-Deceuninck athlete’s move, but not even the Rio Olympic Champion could match the explosive speed of the Dutch star, who crossed the line in first place.
Austria’s Laura Stigger (Ghost Factory Team) completed the podium in third. Among the Italians, Chiara Teocchi (Lapierre Racing) was the top finisher in 15th place, followed by Greta Seiwald (Decathlon) in 19th, and Martina Berta (Origine Racing Team) in 22nd.
In the U23 Women’s Short Track, it was Canada’s Nicole Bradbury who took the win. The young rider held off a strong challenge from two Austrians: World Cup leader Katharina Sadnik (KTM Factory), who finished second, and her compatriot Katrin Embacher (Trek Future), who came in third.
